With Christophe Pillet's Shibuya vases, Kartell makes a unique experiment in the world:to make plastic “precious”, rich and full-bodied, as if it were blown Murano glass. Shibuya vases have a perforated lid, removed which can easily become accessories for the table and no longer just decorative objects. Beyond their poly-functionality, the peculiarity of this project is given by the fact that the vase has two colored bands without any interruption of the surface of the material, able to guarantee a perfect water tightness. Color is the protagonist in the project:its intensity and depth, combined with the body of the plastic material, makes this object particularly precious even if made on an industrial scale and with an industrial price.
