Gae Aulenti

Gae Aulenti, pseudonym of Gaetana Aulenti was born in Palazzolo dello Stella, December 4 was an Italian architect and designer Born in the province of Udine, from a father of Apulian origins, she graduated in architecture at the Milan Polytechnic in 1953, where she obtained 'qualification for the profession. Gae Aulenti trained as an architect in the Milan of the fifties, where Italian architecture is engaged in that historical-cultural research of recovering the architectural values of the past and the existing built environment. These architectural expressions had first had the development of neorealism and then materialized at the end, in fact, of the fifties in the new current of Neoliberty. Aulenti is part of this path, which arises as a reaction to rationalism. From 1955 to 1965 he was part of the editorial staff of Casabella-Continuità under the direction of Ernesto Nathan Rogers. About herself she says she sees her architecture in close relationship and interconnection with the existing urban environment, which almost becomes her generating form, trying, with this, to transfer the multiplicity and intensity of the elements into her architectural space, that go to define the urban universe. From 1974 to 1979 he was a member of the Steering Committee of the"Lotus International"magazine, then he made artistic experiences and from 1976 to 1978 he collaborated with Luca Ronconi in Prato at the Theater Design Laboratory. In 1984 she was appointed correspondent of the National Academy of San Luca in Rome, while from 1995 to 1996 she was president of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.
