Bat table lamp

Table lamp with diffused light, adjustable in height with a telescopic movement. Designed in 1963 and produced since 1965, it is the object to which the Designer felt the most attached among the many she designed. Displayed at the MOMA in New York, it is truly a masterpiece of Italian Design. This mushroom-shaped lamp features a telescopic steel rod that can transform it from a table lamp to a floor lamp (it can reach a height of 86 cm). It has a white opal methacrylate diffuser divided into four parts that resembles the geometries of a wing of the animal of the same name. The conical geometries of the steel base create an upward movement that culminates in the diffuser and flows into its ribs like the "unfolding of a bat's wings." Despite having quite elementary geometries, the molding techniques used by the company to produce each component were very innovative for the time they were designed.
